Santa Cruz County Association of REALTORS® Housing Foundation (SCCAR) is honored to offer the Closing Cost / Community Heroes Program. This program can help our local heroes realize their dream of home ownership in Santa Cruz County by assisting with costs and can be used in conjunction with other state, county or housing assistance programs. This can make the difference for some individuals in achieving home ownership.
In qualifying for the Closing Cost Assistance Grant, the following income eligible employees working full / part time for Santa Cruz City or County organizations may also qualify for an additional $2500 (this does include administrative and support staff): police departments (including volunteer sheriffs) , firefighters (including Cal Fire), as well as volunteer firefighters having served at least 2 years with a fire agency, EMT’s working for any organization providing paramedic or ambulance services, military/veterans currently serving or having been honorably discharged from the United States Armed Forces, including the Coast Guard and all branches of the California State Military Reserves.
